Essential services when you arrive
|
When you first arrive in Berlin, the first thing you’ll probably want to do is go shopping. But before you brave the supermarkets, maybe just get a takeaway. Here’s a few links which might be helpful:
Cooked food delivery Lieferando Wolt Food boxes to cook at home HelloFresh Dinnerly Foodly Grocery deliveries Rewe Edeka Flink Getir Gorillas Flaschenpost Durstexpress Schnelle Sachen When ordering the food boxes or delivery, check how long delivery will take – some services offer delivery within 10 minutes, while others will take a lot longer. When you first move, make sure your name is on the door buzzer (if not, make a note of what name is there), and when giving delivery instructions and answering the door, make sure you tell them which building and floor number. For example, if people have to go through a central courtyard to get your apartment, you should tell them it’s Vorderhaus (front house), Hinterhaus (back house) or Seitenflügel (side house). Ask your landlord if you’re not sure. Otherwise your delivery driver won’t be happy, and your food will be cold! |
